Active Listening IV: Air

Active Listening 2019 bei Hošek Contemporary

The physical act of producing sound through activating air can be both an incredibly nuanced and quiet endeavour, and a simple and a loud one. The focus of this concert is on the delicate connection between the physicality of the performers and the range of air and tone that they are exploring. A mirrored program is bookended by works from Mark Andre, alternate versions of the same piece performed on two different instruments: contrabass clarinet and tuba. In between are two works from Harðarson which explore the physical connection between the performer and their instrument, whilst at the centre is a premiere from the American composer also based in Berlin, Jesse Ronneau.

  • Mark Andre: »iv 7«
  • Haukur Þór Harðarson: »Air and Blood«
  • Jesse Ronneau: », aber es werden Geister...« (UA)
  • Haukur Þór Harðarson: »Anima« (UA)
  • Mark Andre: »iv 16«

Ingólfur Vilhjálmsson, Bass- und Kontrabassklarinette
Jack Adler-McKean, Tuba

Dieses gespiegelte Konzert fokussiert sich auf leise, nuancierte Verbindungen zwischen Veränderungen von Luft und Ton und die körperliche Gestalt des Spielers, in die Mitte eine Uraufführung von Jesse Ronneau.
